Religious holidays include Diwali (festival of light), Durga Puja, Holi, Lohri, Maha Shivaratri, Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Adha and Buddha Jayanti. The Qutub Festival is a cultural event during which the performance of musicians and dancers from all regions of India are presented on the night, with the Qutub Minar chosen as the backdrop for this event. Other events such as Kite Flying Festival, International Festival of mango and Vasant Panchami (Spring Festival) are held annually in Delhi.



The Pragati Maidan hosts major exhibitions such as the Book Fair and the India International Trade Fair annually. New Delhi is a cosmopolitan city because of the multi-ethnic and multicultural presence of the vast Indian bureaucracy and the political system. The city the capital of the state has increased the importance of national events and holidays. National events such as the Republic Day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti (anniversary of Gandhi) are celebrated with great enthusiasm in New Delhi and elsewhere in India. The Independence Day of India(August 15) the Prime Minister of India addressed the nation from the Red Fort. Most Delhiites celebrate the day with kites, which are regarded as a symbol of freedom. Parade of the Republic Day is a big military parade and cultural value of the cultural diversity of India and military.

 

New Delhi,a city Centre. Connaught Place, northern India, one of the biggest financial and commercial centers, is located in the heart of New Delhi. With an estimated net State Domestic Product (SDP) 83085 crores (830.85 billion) Indian Rupee (INR) (for the year 2004-05), Delhi is an important commercial center in South Asia. Delhi has a per capita income of 53976 rupees. The service sector contributes 70.95% of gross SDP Delhi followed by secondary and primary sectors of 25.2% and 3.85%, respectively, the contribution. Government and quasi-public sector is the largest employer in New Delhi. The city's services sector grew in part because of the high-skilled English-speaking workforce that has attracted many multinational corporations. Key service industries include information technology, telecommunications, hotels, banks, the media and tourism.
