Vivekananda and science
In his book, Raja Yoga, Vivekananda wrote that the practice
of Raja Yoga can confer psychic powers such as "another
reading of his thoughts," control of all the forces of
nature, "become" almost know everything, ""
live without breathing ',' The controlling body of the other
and levitation. It also explains traditional eastern spiritual
concepts as kundalini and centers of spiritual energy.
However, Vivekananda himself says in his book.
This is not a sign of a franchise and the scientific spirit
to throw anything over without investigation. Surface scientists,
unable to explain the various phenomena extraordinary mental,
trying to ignore their very existence.
also said in the introduction to the book we must address
the practice and check these things for themselves, and that
we should not blind belief.
“What little I know that I will tell you. As far as
I can because it I will do it, but what I do not know I will
simply tell you what the books say. It is wrong to believe
blindly. You should exercise reason and your own judgement,
you must practice, and see if these things are happening or
not. Just as you would any other science, exactly the same
way, you should take from this study for science. ”
Vivekananda (1895) rejected the ether of Einstein's theory
before (1905), stating that he could not explain the space
itself.
The great scholar electricity, Nikola Tesla, after hearing
the speech on Vivekananda Sankhya philosophy, was much more
interested in his cosmogony rational and his theories of Kalpas
(cycles), and Prana Akasha. His concept is based on the Vedanta
led to the suggestion that the matter is a manifestation of
energy. After attending a conference on Vivekananda Vedanta
by Tesla also concluded that modern science can seek the solution
of problems in cosmology Sankhya philosophy, and it may be
that the mass can be reduced to the potential energy mathematically.
Works
Vivekananda left a body of philosophical works (see Vivekananda's
complete works), which Vedic scholar Frank Parlato called,
"the largest of the philosophy of work ever published."
His books (compiled from lectures throughout the world) on
the four Yogas (Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Jnana
Yoga) are very influential and still regarded as a fundamental
text for anyone interested in practice Hindu yoga. His letters
are of great spiritual and literary. He was also regarded
as a very good singer and a poet. He has composed numerous
songs including her favorite Mother Kali. He used humor to
his teachings and was an excellent cook. His language is very
fluid. His own Bengali written testimony to the effect that
he believed the words - spoken or written should be to make
things easier to understand rather than showing the speaker
or the writer of knowledge.
