New Delhi Airport gmr
(The Delhi airport is better known as Indira Gandhi International
Airport (IGIA). It is one of the main gateways to India and
connects northern India to the rest of the world. New Delhi
airport will meet both international and domestic passengers.
The International Terminal (Terminal II) has 35 airlines
to the major cities around the world.
National airport has three terminals, ie Terminal & Terminal
1A and 1B Domestic Arrival terminal. Terminal 1A welcomes
domestic flights of the domestic Indian Airlines and its subsidiary
Alliance Air. Flights from other private airlines expected
viz. Jet Airways, Air Sahara, KingFisher, SpiceJet, Air Deccan
and Paramount Airways, operating from terminal 1B, as well
as other executive private jet aviation activities.
The airport is equipped with state-of-the-art category -
IIIA landing system make it operational even in dense fog.
Delhi airport is currently undergoing privatization. GMR-Fraport
consortium won the bid for privatization and the airport currently
handles a variety of functions, including operations, maintenance,
development, design, construction and management of the airport.
The consortium pump in Rs 280 million in investment and the
first phase of modernization will be completed by 2010.)
