Application for visa
Form visa application are available at the office of the
Indian embassy in the country where the NRI / PIO resides.
Form visas for nationals of Pakistan and Bangladesh are generally
different. All NRIs / PIO, including children (who do not
own or PIO card OIC) must apply for a visa in the visa application
forms separately.
Procedure’s for obtaining visas
The visas can be applied in person or by post at the High
Commission of India based in the country where the applicant
intends to depart from India. Specific visas are granted for
a variety of reasons, which are mentioned above.
Requirements for Visa
In general, the following documents are required to obtain
a visa India. However, the requirement may vary from one country
to another.

Visa’s for People of Indian origin and Non-Resident
Indians
People of Indian origin and non-resident Indians who are
in possession of BEC (Overseas Indian citizenship) or PIO
do not need a visa card of India. BEC PIO and give them the
freedom to travel to India without a visa. BEC and PIO cards
are versatile lifelong visa for visiting India.
However, these NRIs and PIOs who do not have a card or PIO
BEC can request and obtain a visa for India through the above
mentioned procedure.
