History
Inaugurated on November 19, 1984, by the Prime Minister,
late Sh Rajiv Gandhi, on the occasion of the anniversary of
late Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi, APPU Ghar has come
a long way and has created a niche for itself. It is near
the happening place in the city. The dreamchild of the late
Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi was formally opened under
the auspices of the International Entertainment Limited, which
has its headquarters at the door No. 4, Pragati Maidan, New
Delhi.
The couples dance of love and romance in the Rain Dance or
ice dancing brought depending on the season. This water park
is mostly preferred by people out to beat the scorching heat
of summer.
APPU Ghar in New Delhi is a large crowd for residents of
the capital as well as those of nearby towns. Children have
a moment of their lives here, while enjoying the various rides.
APPU Ghar was closed on February 17, 2008. The land on which
it was built was leased for 25 years and which expired in
1999. Attempts to revive the lease had been unsuccessful,
supre court of India ordered the closure of this landmark
on the map for kiddies Delhi.
Attractions in APPU Ghar
Spread over 15.5 hectares of land, it houses 22 laps immensely
popular in its premises, and recently opened the water park
- OYSTERS spread over 3.5 acres of land. In addition to rides,
APPU Ghar a fast-food service centres of all types of Indian
cuisine and a variety of shops selling gift items and products.
Another attraction of enchanting APPU Ghar are Majic River,
Hi waves, the Tower of Thrills, Pool.
The Swinging sensations
APPU Ghar has the usual fare of exciting games like Roller
Coaster, Big Splash, Dodgem RAC, the tunnel Eerie, Giant Wheel,
Columbus Jhoola - a ship above the clouds, speeding Cup, a
cable car, a dish which works on centrifugal force and much
more
Games ice
APPU Ghar introduced ice Games oysters, where four acres
of water park were covered with ice for winter sports. These
include the luge, skiing, ice boating, where you can line
through a river full of icebergs and bowling on ice.
APPU Ghar is one of the children and amusement park suitable
for anyone of any age. This theme park haunted houses and
roller coasters. APPU, was both a cartoon mascot, and a live
mascot that the elephant has become the star of the 1982 Asian
Games in New Delhi, India. The amusement park has obtained
the name of the Mascots name; APPU "is the name of the
elephant and Ghar means" house ".
