In the United Kingdom, Discover credit cards issued on the MasterCard network under the Goldfish brand and Morgan Stanley. This division was purchased from Lloyds TSB in 2005. It was subsequently sold to Barclays on February 7, 2008. These maps have been rebranded as Goldfish Barclaycard Platinum and Barclaycard respectively. In addition, in May 2005 Discover Network announced an alliance with China UnionPay Network. The two companies signed a long-term agreement that will lead to acceptance of Discover Card brand to Network UnionPay ATMs and point of sale terminals in China and acceptance of China UnionPay cards on the PULSE network States United CUP cards are accepted in the United States since December 2005, and discover cards have been accepted in China since November 8, 2006. The partnership makes Discover Card the most widely accepted U.S. card in China, beating competitors from Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Discover Financial Services, neither China nor UnionPay have indicated whether there were plans to eventually increase the acceptance of other countries where the CUP network is in place, ie, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand , Vietnam and South Korea.
